JOHN G. RAUCCI NAMED TO HEADQUARTERS POST
Raucci will lead the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Human Resources Division

WASHINGTON, D.C.— FBI Director Robert S. Mueller, III has named John G. Raucci, Assistant Director of the FBI's Human Resources Division. Mr. Raucci was most recently Special Agent in Charge of the Jackson, Mississippi Field Office. .

In this new role, Mr. Raucci will work closely with the Executive Assistant Director of the newly created Human Resources Branch, to continue the program of change to improve the FBI's human resources function. The Human Resources Division is responsible for the development and implementation of human resources program and services to include recruitment and selection, position management, performance management, executive development and selection, health, employee assistance and employee benefits.

An eighteen-year veteran of the FBI, Mr. Raucci was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He earned both his undergraduate degree (Business Administration) and his graduate degree from colleges in the state of Illinois, and also earned a law degree from the Detroit College of Law. Since joining the FBI in 1987 as a Special Agent, his field operation assignments have included Phoenix, Arizona; Detroit, Michigan; and Chicago, Illinois, Field Offices During those assignments, Mr. Raucci gained experience in Indian Country violations, Violent Crimes, Counterintelligence and Drug matters.

Mr. Raucci was promoted to FBI Headquarters in 1998 and assigned to the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR). He served there until November 1999, then transferred to the Inspection Division. In July 2000, he was assigned to the Chicago Filed Office as a Field Supervisor over an Organized Crime Squad, followed by his promotion to Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC), where he managed Chicago's five Counterterrorism Squads, O'Hare and Midway Airports and a Resident Agency. In June 2003, he assumed responsibilities as the Chicago Administrative ASAC.

In March 2004, Mr. Raucci was named Section Chief of Security Operations in the Security Division at FBI Headquarters. Director Mueller appointed Mr. Raucci SAC of the Jackson, Mississippi, Division in November 2006. Mr. Raucci is married and has four children.
