SNIPER MURDERS TIP-LINE

The toll-free tip-line set up October 10th at the FBI's Washington Field Office receives thousands of calls per day related to the sniper-attacks in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. We continue to encourage the public to call 1-888-324-9800 with relevant and timely information which may lead to the apprehension of the perpetrator(s) of these crimes.

Callers have occasionally experienced a busy signal because of heavy call volume on the tip-line and we have added additional lines and operators to correct this problem.

We ask callers, however, to make sure that they provide substantive information relating to the sniper attacks; but not theories, opinion or unrelated information which needlessly tie up the tip-line. We encourage the public to consider using the FBI web-site, to provide information which is not time-sensitive but may be relevant to the sniper murders investigation.
