1. San Diego: Former CIA Executive Director Pleads Guilty

Former Central Intelligence Executive Director Kyle “Dusty” Foggo pled guilty to using his position to cause the CIA to hire companies in which he had a personal interest. Full story

2. New Orleans: Judge Sentenced on Racketeering Charges

Former Caddo District Judge Michael Walker was sentenced to ten years imprisonment as a result of Operation Broken Gavel. Full story (pdf)

3. Memphis: State Senator Sentenced

Former Tennessee State Senator John Ford was sentenced to 14 years imprisonment for wire fraud and failing to disclose material facts in connection with his “consulting services” with contractors doing business with the state. Full story

4. San Juan: Commonwealth Senator and Political Aide Indicted

Jorge De Castro Font, a senator in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, was indicted on extortion, bribery and money laundering conspiracies. Full story

5. Dallas: Law Firm Pleads Guilty

Trey Allen, P.C., a personal injury law firm, pled guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud and health care fraud and receiving kickbacks as part of a stage accident scheme. Full story

6. San Antonio: Illegal Alien Indicted for Shooting at Border Patrol

Bernardo Javier Gutierrez, an illegal alien, was indicted for assaulting a Border Patrol Agent and with the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. Full story

7. Indianapolis: Police Chief Convicted

Former Gary, Indiana Police Chief Thomas Houston was convicted on a felony civil rights violation and faces a maximum sentence of 10 years imprisonment. Full story

8. Chicago: Algerian National Arrested in Insurance Fraud Scheme

Abdelhamid Sedrati, the subject of an international manhunt since December of 2000, was arrested in Atlanta, GA on charges of conspiring to defraud Allstate Life Insurance Company. Full story

9. New York: Construction Company Owner Arrested for Violent Retaliation against Plaintiff

Jozef Wolosz, owner of Keystone Renovations Corp., and four associates were charged with conspiring to violently retaliate against the plaintiffs and their attorney in a class action lawsuit against Wolosz and his company. Full story (pdf)

10. Los Angeles: Former Congressional Candidate Indicted

Former congressional candidate Tan Nguyen was indicted on charges of making misleading statements to investigators regarding a letter that was sent to Latino voters prior to the November 2006 elections. Full story
