1. FBI Headquarters: Army Scientist Sole Culprit in Anthrax Attacks

Army scientist, Bruce Ivins, was determined to have acted alone in the 2001 anthrax attacks which killed five people. Full story

2. New York: Pakistani Woman Arrested in Afghanistan

Aafia Siddiqui was charged with attempting to kill United States officers and employees in Afghanistan. Full story

3. Tampa: John Gotti Charged with RICO Conspiracy

John “Junior” Gotti, the son of former Gambino Crime Family boss, John J. Gotti (deceased), was charged with conspiracy to violate the RICO statute and the murder of three men. Full story (pdf)

4. Philadelphia: Council Member's Chief of Staff Indicted

Christopher Wright, chief of staff to a Philadelphia city council member, two real estate developers and their attorney were indicted on public corruption charges. Full story

5. Richmond: Federal Inmate Indicted in ID Theft

John Kenneth Leighnor, Jr. was indicted in an ID theft scheme targeting Holocaust victims which he coordinated from the Federal Correctional Institute. Full story

6. Jackson: Police Officer Sentenced to Life

Maceo Simmons, a former police officer with the Jackson Police Department, was sentenced to life imprisonment for the sexual assault of a woman he had detained after a traffic stop. Full story

7. Miami/Washington, D.C.: Terrorist Indicted in Hostage-Taking

Hely Mejia Mendoza, senior member of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), was indicted in the hostage-taking of three Americans who were held captive for five years. Full story

8. Washington, D.C.: Resident Alien Sentenced for Aiding and Abetting Chinese Agent

Yu Xin Kang, a Chinese citizen and a lawful resident alien, was sentenced for aiding and abetting Tai Shen Kuo, an unregistered agent from the People’s Republic of China. Full story

9. San Diego: Three Charged in Courthouse Bombing

Rachelle Lynette Carlock, Ella Louise Sanders, and Eric Reginald Robinson were charged with using a weapon of mass destruction arising from the bombing of a federal courthouse. Full story (pdf)

10. Minneapolis: Minister Found Guilty of Fraud

Pastor Neulan Midkiff was found guilty of defrauding 519 people out of more than $30 million in an investment scheme. Full story
