1.   San Juan: Governor Indicted on Public Corruption Charges

Puerto Rico Governor Anibal Acevedo Vila and 12 associates were charged on a 27-count indictment.  The numerous charges include federal program fraud, tax crimes, and conspiracy. Full Story

2.   New York: Chinese Organized Crime Leader Sentenced

Lim Shang, the leader of the Lim Organization, a violent and organized criminal enterprise, pled guilty to racketeering crimes. Full Story (PDF)

3.   Los Angeles: Chinese Agent Sentenced for Exporting Sensitive Military Technology to China

Chi Mak was sentenced to over 24 years in prison for orchestrating a conspiracy to obtain sensitive naval technology and exporting it illegally to China. Full Story

4.   Sacramento: Operation Homewrecker Nets 19 in Nationwide Mortgage Fraud Scams

Operation Homewrecker, an extensive investigation of mortgage fraud, resulted in the indictment of 19 individuals who had victimized homeowners across the U.S. Full Story

5.   Seattle and San Diego: Card Dealer Pleads Guilty to Cheating

Former card dealer at the Emerald Queen Casino, Thongsok Sovan, pled guilty to using a “false shuffle” scheme to steal money from the casino. Full Story

6.   New York: Colombo Captain and 5 Associates Indicted

7.   Newark: Operation Bid Rig Nets Another Public Official

8.   Buffalo: National Air Cargo Agrees to Pay $28 Million
             
National Air Cargo has agreed to pay the United States $28 million to resolve allegations that it defrauded the Department of Defense. Full Story
