1. New York: Canadian Al Qaeda Member Sentenced to Life in Prison

Mohammed Mansour Jabarah, aka "Abu Hafs al Kuwaiti," was sentenced to life in prison on multiple terrorism conspiracy charges. Full Story

2. Oklahoma City: State Auditor and Wife Indicted

Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector Jeff McMahan, and his wife, Lori McMahan, were indicted on charges of conspiracy, fraud and racketeering. Full Story

3. Miami: Jose Padilla Sentenced on Terrorism Charges

Jose Padilla, Adham Amin Hassoun, and Kifah Wael Jayyousi were sentenced on charges of conspiracy to murder, kidnap and maim and conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists. Full Story

4. New Orleans: Indictment for Displaying Hangman Nooses

Jeremiah Munsen was indicted on federal hate crime charges for intimidating marchers in a civil rights rally by displaying hangman's nooses from the back of a pickup truck. Full Story

5. Miami: Sentencing in $56.5 Million Medicare Fraud

Owners of nine separate Miami-based health care corporations have been sentenced for filing $56.5 million in fraudulent Medicare claims for unnecessary durable medical equipment and infusion therapy. Full Story

6. Boston: $458 Million Settlement in Fatal Tunnel Collapse

Bechtel Infrastructure Corporation, PB America Inc., and certain design consultants have agreed to pay a total of $458 million to settle federal and state claims in the collapse of the "Big Dig" Project. Full Story

7. Newark: Thirteen Individuals Indicted in $20 Million Home Equity Loan Scheme

Thirteen individuals were indicted in a scheme to fraudulently obtain more than $20 million in home equity and business lines of credit. Seven other individuals have already pled guilty. Full Story

8. Honolulu: Prison Warden Sentenced for Civil Rights Violation

Mika Kelemente, former warden at the Tafuna Correctional Facility, and Siaumau Mapu, a former corrections officer at the same prison, were sentenced for physical assault of inmates. Full Story

9. Birmingham: Postsecondary Chancellor Pleads Guilty

Roy W. Johnson, Jr., former Chancellor of Alabama's Department of Postsecondary Education, pled guilty to conspiracy, bribery, obstruction of justice and money laundering. Full Story

10. Boston: Guilty Plea in Bilking Senior Citizens

John A. Baldo pled guilty to defrauding senior citizens out of over $1.9 million by claiming he was a certified financial planner and offering them handsome returns on their money. Full Story
