Joseph F. Hannigan Named Special Advisor to FBI Director

Beginning in February 2008, Joseph F. Hannigan, Associate Director of Executive Education for Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, will engage in a six-month sabbatical from Northwestern University to serve as a Special Advisor to FBI Director Robert S. Mueller, III.

The FBI has enjoyed a strong relationship with Mr. Hannigan and Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management for several years through two flagship programs: Navigating Strategic Change for first line supervisors and Leading Strategic Change for Bureau executives. These programs, under Mr. Hannigan's leadership, have added immeasurable value to the FBI as an organization, particularly in the context of the FBI's rapid and sustained change after the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

Mr. Hannigan brings a wealth of academic and business experience to the FBI. In addition to his responsibilities as Associate Director of Executive Education in the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, he is the Director of Executive Education for Northwestern University's School of Law. He has also been a graduate school instructor for over 25 years. Before beginning his career at Northwestern, Mr. Hannigan held the position of Director of Human Resources for the Moore Business Products Group, a division of the Moore Corporation. He also served as Director of Training and Development for the Solo Cup Company.

During his time with the FBI, Mr. Hannigan will advise Director Mueller on a variety of leadership and executive development matters.
