FBI Identifies Sixth Body Recovered in Iraq

"Today the FBI identified the sixth body recovered by U.S. authorities in Iraq as Jonathon Cote of Getzville, New York," said Special Agent Richard J. Kolko.

Mr. Cote was employed by Crescent Security Group (CSG) at the time of his kidnapping on November 16, 2006.

Mr. Cote's body was recovered on April 19, 2008, and his family was immediately informed by the FBI of the recovery. Mr. Cote's family was notified today of the positive identification of his remains following confirmation of his identity by the FBI. Mr. Cote's remains are in the United States and will be returned to his family.

The FBI has previously identified the remains of five other contractors, including Americans Ronald J. Withrow of JPI Worldwide; John Roy Young, Paul Christopher Johnson-Reuben, and Joshua Mark Munns of CSG; and Austrian citizen Burt Nussbaumer, also of CSG. The FBI's Office of Victim Assistance has been in contact with all the victims' families since the men were kidnapped.
