February 23, 2009 ETA REGIONAL INFORMATION ALERT NO. 039-09 ORIGINATING OFFICE: Region 5 SUBJECT: Announcement of Technical Assistance and Training – Heartland Conference, March 31 – April 2, 2009 in Kansas City PROGRAMS: All Programs 1. Purpose. To announce ETA Regional Office-sponsored technical assistance and training opportunities offered at the Heartland Conference: Preparing the Workforce for the Changing Midwest Economy, March 31-April 2, 2009. 2. Today’s economy presents the workforce and economic development world with challenges it has not faced in decades. The Heartland Conference will present a wide array of strategies designed to meet and overcome today’s challenges and position our systems for what may come tomorrow. 5. Substance. The event will provide a forum for partnering and networking with leaders from all facets of workforce and economic development. Workshop tracks will include:
The agenda includes a substantial focus on implementing America’s Recovery and Reinvestment Act, with presentation and discussion from the ETA implementation team. The 2009 Heartland Conference will be held at: Hyatt Regency Crown
