Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Clark “Click” Bishop is committed to building a world-class Alaska workforce and increasing self-sufficiency through employment, training and support services.

A life-long Alaskan from Fairbanks, Commissioner Bishop has served on both statewide and local public policy boards actively involved in developing workforce initiatives. Before being named Commissioner in January 2007, he served as Administrator and Coordinator for the Alaska Operating Engineers/Employers Training Trust for 15 years.

Commissioner Bishop has been a board member of Alaska Works Partnership Inc., the State Job Training Coordinating Council and the University of Alaska Fairbanks Tanana Campus Advisory Board, and a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 302.

He was recently recognized by the Alaska AFL-CIO with the Thomas Cashen Award for supporting training and apprenticeship opportunities for thousands of Alaskans.
