On February 13, 2009, the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate approved the conference report for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 -- an historic and unprecedented $787 billion dollar spending initiative. This Web site is designed to keep South Carolinians informed about how the money is being used. The goal is to ensure the highest level of transparency and accountability possible.

Oversight
On March 12, 2009, Governor Mark Sanford issued an Executive Order creating the Stimulus Oversight, Accountability and Coordination Task Force.
Comptroller General Richard Eckstrom has been named Chairman of the Task Force, which aims to ensure the federal funds are spent as intended and with full transparency and accountability.
