Summer High School Apprentice
Research Program (SHARP)
Stimulates student interest in science and engineering careers, creating
a pool of scientists and engineers for the future needs of NASA and
the aerospace industry. Students work for 8 weeks during the summer
with a NASA mentor in a lab or office environment. The projects they
are assigned will be appropriate to the interests and maturity levels
of the participants.

NASA Student Involvement
Program (NSIP)
The NASA Student Involvement Program (NSIP) is a national program of
investigations and design challenges. NSIP links students directly with
NASA's diverse and exciting missions of research, exploration, and discovery.
By participating in these competitions and learning activities, students
design space missions, investigate Earth from space, explore Earth systems
in their neighborhood, and learn about the latest developments in aeronautics,
and Earth and space exploration. NSIP is a wonderful opportunity for
students to learn science by doing science.
Win a trip to Space Camp or

High School/High Tech (HS/HT)
Encourages students from the local Houston/Galveston area with disabilities
to pursue academic studies and explore careers in science, engineering,
and math. The program is a collaborative project of United Cerebral
Palsy of Texas, United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Houston, and NASA,
JSC. During the summer, students work for 5 weeks (4 days a week) with
a NASA mentor in either a lab or office environment.

Dropping In
a Microgravity Environment (DIME) Interested
teams will prepare a proposal for a drop tower experiment and submit
it to NASA's Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The proposals
will then be evaluated and four winning teams will be chosen. The four
teams will then complete the design of their experiments and take them
to Glenn Research Center to operate them in the drop tower. The center
will provide an expense-paid trip for five representatives from each
winning team. Check the DIME
Web site for more information.
