Norm Phillips - Doyon, Limited Print E-mail

Norman Phillips, Jr. is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Doyon, Limited, the Alaska Native Regional Corporation for the Interior.  He is also a shareholder.  Doyon, Limited is one of the largest private land owners in North America and was ranked in 2008 as one of the top 10 Alaskan businesses, based upon 2007 gross revenue. 

 

Norm received a Bachelors of Science degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) School of Mineral Engineering in 1983.  Norm has been with Doyon for over 20 years serving as Natural Resource Manager since 1996.  He joined Doyon first as Engineering Geologist in 1988. 

 

Norm has been involved as a member of many boards and committees across the state.  He has served on the Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce, Chair in 2005, the Alaska Workforce Board, the Fairbanks Economic and Development Corporation, Chair 2005 - 2007, the Samaritan Counseling Center, Chair 2002 - 2004, the Alaska Department of Geologic and Geophysical Survey advisory board, the Denali Commission – Transportation Advisory Committee  and the University of Alaska, Fairbanks School of Mineral Engineering advisory board and the Baan O Yeel kon Corporation Board of Directors, President 1991 - 2000. Norm was born in Fairbanks.  His Mother, Alice Philips, and Grandmother, Sally Hudson, were both born and raised in Rampart, a village on the Yukon River.  For over 36 years he has been married to Nancy (Hage) together they have raised four children and have two grandchildren.
