Criminal and Civil Case Filing Training The United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio provides training in the use of its Case Management / Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system to all interested attorneys and law firm staff. The Court now permits attorneys to file documents electronically over the Internet in criminal and civil cases. Absent a showing of good cause, the Court expects attorneys to take advantage of the benefits of this new service which include: e-mail noticing of all filings, 24 hour access to file or view documents; immediate access to updated docket sheets and to the documents themselves; potential elimination of paper files that can be misplaced or lost; and potential for savings in copying, courier and noticing costs. Our training programs provide attorneys and their staffs with the knowledge necessary to use the electronic filing system.
