Landsat 7 Data from the US Receiving Station:

Landsat 7 Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) data are distributed to the public from the US Geological Survey's EROS Data Center (EDC), the primary Landsat 7 receiving station in the US. Individuals, organizations and commercial entities interested in Landsat 7 data should inquire with the EDC.

EDC ON-LINE CATALOG SYSTEM:

Information on Landsat 7 global data coverage (including metadata and browse, when available) may be obtained from EDC over the Internet. The on-line system includes pre-selected images for immediate viewing and access to a catalog for reviewing data availability and ordering data. The Landsat 7 catalog system is part of the Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) developed by NASA for Landsat 7 and future EOS instruments.

Data in the US from Landsats 1-5:

Landsat Multispectral Scanner (MSS) and Thematic Mapper (TM) data are available in the United States through the US Geological Survey's EROS Data Center (EDC) and Space Imaging Corp.

Data users interested in MSS digital data and hardcopy products should direct inquiries to the EDC.

"US Government and Affiliated Users" (USGAU) interested in TM digital data and hardcopy products should direct inquiries to the EDC.

Other users of TM data should direct inquiries to the EDC if the data of interest were acquired prior to October 1992, or to Space Imaging for acquisitions more recent than October 1992.

EDC on-line catalog systems:

Information about data from Landsats 1-5 at the EDC can be obtained over the Internet through the Global Land Information System (GLIS).

GLIS is an interactive computer system that provides information on land data sets. GLIS contains references to regional, continental, and global data sets including land use, soils, topography, and data from aircraft and satellites. Direct access to GLIS is also available through wide area networks and dial-up interfaces.

GLIS user assistance:

Telephone: 605-594-6151
Fax: 605-594-6589
Email: glis@glis.cr.usgs.gov

Note: Because of an agreement between the USG and EOSAT Corporation (now Space Imaging Corp.) regarding cost and reproduction rights for Landsat TM data sold to US government and affiliated users, all such users should order Landsat data through the EDC to obtain the lowest price.

How to contact Space Imaging:

To serve customers, Space Imaging maintains marketing and sales, applications and customer services departments. Space Imaging encourages customers to review product requirements with the Space Imaging staff. All customer inquiries and orders are confidential.
