Smoke from fires in Saskatchewan, Canada, (out of scene at upper left) wafts southward over the Great Lakes and the mid-western United States in this image from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer from June 28, 2002. Among the haziest skies are those over Ontario, Canada (top), Minnesota (top left), and Wisconsin (to the east), but the smoke reaches as far south as Missouri (bottom left).
