Edmundo Cerda-Anima is wanted for his alleged involvement in the murder of Allesandra Adams in Metairie, Louisiana. On May 23, 2006, Adams' body was discovered nude lying face down in a gravel and sand area behind the rear of a residence and a canal embankment. She had been raped, but died as a result of multiple force injuries from being struck by a car. The day before, Adams went to a local park with her son and two friends to walk/jog. The group left their car and separated in the park. They later joined together at their vehicle, but Adams failed to return.
Cerda-Anima is believed to have been part of a framing crew who left Wichita, Kansas, to go to the New Orleans area several months before the murder occurred. The crew has been working on houses damaged by Hurricane Katrina.
On May 24, 2006, a felony arrest warrant was issued by the State of Louisiana, Parish of Jefferson, 24th Judicial Court, after Cerda-Anima was charged with first degree murder. The next day, Cerda-Anima was charged federally with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution by the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, and a federal warrant was issued for his arrest.
