Large meanders associated with the retroflection
of the Agulhas Current as it flows along the
eastern coast of Africa are seen in this composite
from all CZCS data acquired between January and March (top).
The equatorial Pacific, as seen in this image representing October through
December conditions (bottom), shows the ocean
color signature of the cusp-shaped equatorial
waves that have also been observed in sea surface
temperature, sea level, and drifting buoy
measurements.
