What can the FBI do for local communities? Many things. We invite you to learn about our community partnerships, our citizens' academies, and our mentoring programs for kids. We hope you enjoy our local stories and use our resources to be "crime smart." We know that our success against crime and terrorism only happens with your support and understanding, and we are proud to serve you. - Supervisory Special Agent Brett Hovington
On March 20, in a first-of-its-kind ceremony at our national Headquarters in Washington, D.C., we paid tribute to more than 50 civic leaders and humanitarian-minded organizations from across the country. Each is a 2008 winner of our Director’s Community Leadership Award, which since 1990 has celebrated those who have made significant contributions to public wellbeing and security. The award is presented annually by the Special Agents in Charge in all of our 56 field offices and by our Community Relations team at FBI Headquarters.
