Healthy People 2000: National Health Promotion and Disease
Prevention Objectives is a statement of national opportunities.
This prevention initiative presents a national strategy for
significantly improving the health of the American people in the
decade preceding the year 2000.
Food safety is one of the 22 priority areas of Healthy
People 2000. The following is a status report on progress toward
meeting the proposed goals.
