In partnership with an agency’s restructuring team, OPM helps agencies accomplish downsizing and related Reduction in Force (RIF) activities as needed throughout specific parts of an agency.
OPM works with agencies to:
Identify gaps in the agency’s Human Resource (HR) staff’s skills necessary to plan and conduct a RIF;
Develop plans for an agency’s operating HR office based upon actual need to conduct a RIF;
Determine the condition of HR records, and assist with file updating; and
Improve the RIF skills of an agency's HR staff.
