This MODIS true-color image depicts the South East United States. Shown are a number of fires (red dots) in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Also visible are phytoplankton blooms along the coast of Florida and the waters surrounding the Bahamas in the Atlantic Ocean. This image was acquired April 6, 2002.
