Beverly Wooley - Department of Health and Social Services Print E-mail

Beverly Wooley has served in her current role as the director of the State of Alaska Division of Public Health since August 2007.  Raised in Alaska, Ms. Wooley began her public health career in 1985 at the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) Department of Health and Human Services where she gained broad public health knowledge and experience in the areas of community health services, environmental services, social services and public health administration.  In 1999 she was appointed Community Health Services Division Manager and in October 2003 she was appointed Director of the Department of Health and Human Services for the Municipality of Anchorage. She took time off from the MOA in 1989-1990 to work in Barrow as a Dietitian and Health Education Coordinator for the North Slope Borough. Ms. Wooley received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from Washington State University, in 1982.  She holds national certifications as a Registered Dietician and Health Education Specialist.  She is a member of the Alaska Council on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault and serves on the board of directors of the United Way of Anchorage and the Alaska Run for Women.
