This Help Desk provides specific information about the TDG site. If you don't find the answer you need:

  • Ask your local system administrator for help.

  • Send an email to hrdleadership@opm.gov to report technical problems. Written reports of technical problems are important sources of input for improving the site.

Understanding Hardware and Software Requirements

The TDG site has been designed to operate on:

Windows 3.x, 95, NT (Windows 98 is being tested)
Processor: PC, 486 DX; Pentium processor highly recommended
8 MB RAM
28.8 kbps modem connection or faster
Netscape Navigator 3.0 or higher, or Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or higher

Adjusting the Display

To view the site as designed, your monitor should display at a minimum resolution of at least 800x600 pixels with at least 256 colors.

If the font appears too large:

  • In MS Internet Explorer, select "View" and then "Fonts", and lower the font size.

  • In Netscape, select, "Options", "General Preferences", the "Font" tab, and click on "Choose Font" for the "Proportional Font" and select a smaller font.

These settings will reduce or eliminate any unnecessary scrolling.

Getting and Installing Adobe Acrobat Reader

To view the Portable Document Files (PDF), you will need to download and install the Acrobat PDF Reader. To do so, click on the button below and follow the instructions from the Adobe site:

Printing from this site

This site was designed using HTML frames for aesthetic reasons, therefore printing is handled a little differently. To print the contents of the page, you must first use your mouse to click anywhere on the page you wish to print and then use your Print command as usual.
