Rose Heyano - Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation Print E-mail

Rose Heyano is an Aleut born and raised in Dillingham, Alaska. Her tribal affiliation is with the Curyung Tribal Council. She has been employed with the Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation (BBAHC) for six years as Director of Community Health Services. Programs under her division includes: Community Health Aide Program, Behavioral Health, Environmental Services, Dental, Optometry, Health Education, Infant Learning etc. She is part of the senior management team for the Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation and represents the corporation on local, state and federal avenues.

Other work experience includes Social Services and Workforce Development Director for the Bristol Bay Native Association; Bank Manager for a local bank in Dillingham; management contracts with four (4) for profit village corporations; loan officer with the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation and 27 years as a commercial drift fisher as owner/operator of a 32 Bristol Bay fishing operation.

Rose has a Bachelors of Business Administration from the Alaska Pacific University. She brings expertise in delivering health and social service programs to remote locations throughout the Bristol Bay region. She has strong managerial, planning and development skills that have increased services and programs for her region.

Rose's experience in program development includes construction of program facilities. She has worked with numerous State, Federal and local granting agencies for acquisition of operation as well as construction funds for the programs pursued. This experience includes the concept of the plan through the implementation of the program or construction of the facility.
