Mr. Schiff: Hi, welcome to "FBI 100, A Closer Look." I'm Neal Schiff of the Bureau's Office of Public Affairs along with FBI Historian Dr. John Fox. Wall Street is something we hear about every day. But John, what happened back in 1920, terrorism on Wall Street, was shocking?

Dr. Fox: "Well Neal on the morning of September 16th a driver parked his cart on the side of the street, right across from the Public Assay Offices and the JP Morgan building. And within moments it blew up killing more than 30 people and injuries hundreds."

Mr. Schiff: So the FBI, then called the Bureau of Investigation, worked with other police agencies to try and figure out what happened?

Dr. Fox: "Yes, the Bureau, the New York Police Department, Secret Service and many other agencies were involved and trying to track down leads across the country to identify who perpetrated this attack."

Mr. Schiff: Early terrorism can we say?

Dr. Fox: "Yes. Actually evidence was found at the scene that the likely perpetrators were anarchists who believed that all government should be overthrown. In fact they had been responsible for several bombings the year before as well and so the Bureau had been working hard to try and figure out who they were."

Mr. Schiff: From the FBI's Public Affairs office, along with Bureau Historian Dr. John Fox, I'm Neal Schiff with "FBI 100, A Closer Look.
