On 7/15/03,
Director Mueller spoke to over 1000 law enforcement officers
at the annual FBI National
Academy Associates Conference
in Colorado, outlining criminal and terrorist threats against
the national and invoking their assistance and leadership
in creating "an extensive network of law enforcement
partnerships and alliances that will counter these threats
at every level." The FBI National Academy Associates is an organization made
up of graduates of the FBI's national Academy leadership
school The school opened its doors in 1935 and has trained
over 36 thousand U.S. and international officers since that
time.
