It's
happening more and more:
local, state, federal, and international
law enforcement agencies joining hands to
protect communities and catch dangerous
fugitives by sharing information and working
cases jointly...supported by concerned citizens
around the globe who provide valuable leads
and information.
This past week alone, these partnerships
paid off six times:
-
On Saturday, one of our top ten fugitives—Genero
Espinosa Dorantes—was arrested
in Mexico by agents of the Agencia Federal
de Investigacion following a joint investigation
by Nashville detectives, FBI agents,
and Mexican authorities. Dorantes is
accused of a terrible crime: severely
beating, burning, and ultimately murdering
his girlfriend's four-year-old son.
How'd we catch him? It all started with
a tip from a member of the Latino community
in Nashville, which led to the girlfriend
(also a wanted fugitive), which led
to Dorantes.
-
Last Wednesday, convicted sex offender
William George Barney was arrested by
Baja California Ministerial Police (BCMP)
with the help of Mexican immigration
officials and law enforcement in California
and Nevada. Barney was profiled recently on the Oprah Winfrey show and listed on this website. Tips resulting
from the publicity helped us locate
Barney.
-
Over the last week, our international
partners also captured FBI fugitives
in Cambodia, the Dominican Republic,
and Haiti. Since the first of the year,
26 fugitives in eight countries have
been located, in countries such as Ghana,
the Philippines, Colombia, and Tonga.
Now, we're calling on these partnerships
once again... to help us find nine
dangerous terrorists and terrorist suspects,
each of whom has just been added to our
Most
Wanted Terrorists and Seeking
Terrorism Information lists.
These individuals are wanted for questioning
by U.S. law enforcement for alleged involvement
in committing or planning terrorist attacks
around the world—not only in the U.S.,
but in the Philippines, Lebanon, Iraq, Kenya,
Indonesia, and other countries.
