Removing Java Runtime Edition
Prior to installing an updated version of the JRE, if there is currently a version on your system, you must remove the old version. The instructions below explains the process that is needed in order to remove the old version. Once you have removed the old version, you can follow the Installing Java Runtime Edition on the ESG main page.
- Uninstall all versions of Java on the machine.
- Reboot.
- Delete "C:\Program Files\Java".
- Delete "C:\Documents and Settings\*\Application Data\Sun\Java".
- NOTE: You'll have go into every user's profile directory to do this (replace the "*" with every user profile directory on that machine).
- Delete "C:\Documents and Settings\*\Local Settings\Application Data\Sun\Java".

- Reboot.
- Follow the installation tutorial for 1.5.0_15
