Carl
Sandburg was born on January 6, 1878, in Galesburg,
Illinois. In 1918, upon return from Sweden, he
had all of his property of the Newspaper Enterprise
Association confiscated by customs, and the military
service. Sandburg was never the subject of an
investigative file, but his name appears in FBI
documents. Sandburg was a noted poet and author.
Sandburg received a Pulitzer Prize in 1950 for
poetry.
