Become A Partner with Us

To be successful in completing our mission, Engineering & Wind Erosion Research Unit, actively seeks partners to collaborate on research activities.

Below is a list of some of Engineering & Wind Erosion Research Unit's partners/cooperators and a short description of the work we are involved in with our cooperators:

  • Purdue Univ. - Developing basic knowledge and understanding of the relationships between processing characteristics and the physical properties and chemical properties of shelled corn.
  • National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)- The Wind Erosion Prediction System (WEPS) is being developed in response for improved erosion prediction and for use by NRCS and other government agencies and conservation partners.
  • Kansas State Univ.
1 - Determine the impact of single kernel and bulk sample properties on milling yield and economics.
2 - Develop two-dimensional mechanistic models of grain commingling in lab-scale and full-scale bucket elevator boots.
3- Determine the effect of repeated handling on particle size distribution of dust emissions from corn and wheat during elevator handling.
4 - Develop grain quality measurement methods to enable sorting for particular attributes and to develop improved storage monitoring methods through innovative use of commercial sensors.
  • Univ. of Kentucky -   Incidence and spread of insects from bucket elevator leg boots.
