Organization Information


The Information and Technology Branch (ITB) is comprised of four offices and one division (approximately 1,800 government and contract employees) that together represent the information technology (IT) life cycle and management of knowledge assets.

  • The Office of IT Program Management (OIPM) mission is to deliver IT capabilities on time and within budget that meet mission needs;
  • The Office of IT Systems Development (ITSD) researches new and emerging capabilities using the latest information technologies and develops prototypes to enhance the FBI's IT lines of business;
  • The Office of IT Policy and Planning (OIPP) strategically plans and assesses IT investments, projects, and assets across the entire enterprise to deliver critical mission capability while optimizing performance and return on investment;
  • The Office of the Chief Knowledge Officer (OCKO) promotes and facilitates the creation, sharing, and application of FBI knowledge; and
  • The IT Operations Division (ITOD) is responsible for providing computer and telecommunication services in terms of quality, timeliness, and responsiveness through cost effective, schedule compliant, reliable, and secure leveraging of IT technologies for the FBI.

Additionally, a Support Section serves the administrative, logistical, financial, human capital, and communications needs of the Branch.
