DESCRIPTION
The FBI is looking for at least two white male suspects, and
possibly a third black male, for their alleged involvement in
the following series of bank robberies. All three suspects are
approximately 18-25 years old, 5'8" to 5'10," with
medium build.
CAUTION
The FBI is seeking the public's help in locating the following
persons who are being sought on suspicion of bank robbery. As
reported to the FBI, there were a series of bank robberies which
occurred August 2006-
February 2009
in
Virginia. It is alleged that the unknown suspects may have committed
the following crimes.
On August 2, 2006, two
males, (one white, the other black) reportedly committed a take-over
robbery at a bank located in Virginia Beach. Both suspects were
wearing body armor under their clothing. They also wore gloves
and used duct tape to conceal any insignias.
Another bank was robbed in Virginia Beach on September
22, 2006. A black male entered the bank and pointed
a black and brown semi-automatic handgun. The suspect wore a
dark hat and dark scarf around his face and carried a gun similar
to the suspect in the August 2, 2006, robbery. After taking money
from several tellers, he fled the scene on foot.
Yet, another Virginia Beach bank was robbed on February
2, 2007, as well as an
armored services employee who was inside the bank transferring
money. A white male entered the bank displaying a pistol grip
shotgun. The suspect demanded the bank bag that the armored car
employee was holding and then demanded money from the tellers.
On February 16, 2007,
a fourth bank was robbed in Virginia Beach. A black male entered
a bank and walked directly behind the teller, displayed a black
handgun and made inquiries about the bait money. He demanded
money from several tellers and stated that he did not want dye
packs. The suspect fled in a stolen blue Chevrolet or Mazda with
Virginia license plates. The suspect concealed his identity by
wearing a fake full beard, sunglasses and gloves. He also wore
a windbreaker with stripes down the sleeve.
Two white male suspects entered a Virginia Beach bank through
the side door on May 3, 2007. One male immediately jumped the counter
and demanded money from four victim tellers, telling them not
to give him dye packs or bait money. The other suspect controlled
the lobby while pointing a silver semi-automatic handgun at several
employees. After a short period of time, this suspect yelled
"time"! The first suspect immediately stopped what
he was doing and both men fled in a stolen royal blue Chevrolet
Cobalt, which has since been recovered. The suspects concealed
their faces behind bandannas or masks and both wore gloves and
body armor. Additionally, the male who jumped the counter was
wearing what appears to be the same jacket worn by the suspect
in the February 16, 2007, robbery.
Customers were told to get on the ground during a Virginia
Beach bank robbery on September 7,
2007. After which, one of the two white males jumped the
counter and demanded money from the tellers. While retrieving
the money, the suspect repeated that he did not want dye packs
or bait money. The other suspect controlled the lobby while pointing
a black handgun at various employees. To conceal their faces,
the suspects wore masks, as well as gloves. Additionally, one
suspect wore a tie and blazer with jeans. He also affixed black
electrical tape to the bottom of his shoes. Both males fled in
a gray Taurus, which has since been located.
A Virginia Beach bank was robbed on
January 24, 2008. Two white male suspects entered
the bank. One suspect pointing a silver semi-automatic handgun
forced several employees and customers to a back office and told
them to get on the floor. While controlling the lobby with his
hand-held gun, the second suspect approached several tellers
and demanded money. The lobby suspect stated they did not want
any dye packs. After which, both suspects placed money into a
black bag and left the bank in a stolen, green Ford Explorer.
Shortly thereafter, the suspects were seen getting into a red/maroon
Ford Expedition located behind a shopping center. During this
robbery, the suspect who took control of the lobby appears to
be the same male wearing the same jacket as the suspect in the
May 3, 2007, robbery.
On May 12, 2008, two suspects driving a black Chevrolet
or GMC large sport utility vehicle parked in the parking lot
of a bank located in Chesapeake, Virginia. A short time later,
an armored car arrived and a guard entered the bank. As the guard
exited the bank with bags containing money, the suspects blocked
the armored car and pulled weapons, including a pistol and long
gun. A black male suspect put one guard on the ground and stole
the bags. As they initiated the robbery, a white male suspect
confronted the driver, then pulled up a mask on his face. Before
leaving the parking lot, a suspect disabled the armored car by
slashing a tire.
On February 23, 2009, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, an armored car was parked in front of a bank. The armored car carrier had just exited the bank and was in the process of placing bank bags in the rear of the van when a black Chevrolet Suburban approached and blocked the front of the van. The driver of the Suburban was wearing a mask and exited the vehicle pointing an assault rifle at the armored car driver. This suspect went towards the rear of the van as the driver tried to alert the carrier by beeping his horn and siren. Another suspect approached the carrier from the rear also armed with an assault rifle. The carrier was then forced to the ground and his weapon taken. The suspects removed bank bags from the van and fled the scene in a silver Ford Explorer leaving the black Suburban at the scene. It was located a short distance away in an apartment complex. Both suspects were dressed in dark clothing and were completely concealed. It is believed that both suspects were men and that a third suspect was driving a getaway car.
