The NIH Career Symposium provides an opportunity for NIH graduate students and postdoctoral trainees to learn about the various career opportunities available to them and to explore factors that lead to career success.

Panel sessions will focus on careers in science writing, teaching in a variety of settings, grants administration, public policy, and both research-intensive careers and careers away from the bench in all sectors, with experts providing insights into their diverse career paths. Workshops will address professional skills including negotiating, interviewing for international fellows, work/life balance, and leadership.

Register to attend the symposium!

Travel from remote NIH campuses:
We encourage fellows on all NIH campuses to attend! The OITE will arrange ground transportation for fellows traveling from Baltimore and NCI-Frederick campuses. We will also provide funds for fellows on other campuses to travel to Bethesda for the symposium, but you must travel on official travel orders, so please apply early.
