HR Manager

OPM's Internet-Based Occupational Analysis Information System

The HR Manager is an internet-based system that provides managers and human resource professionals easy access to competency-based occupational information to support a variety of human resource management functions, including assessment development. HR Manager provides data for job design, recruitment and selection, performance management and career planning on the basis of government-wide job analyses. Occupational data is currently available for occupations in the following job families:

  • Clerical & Technical
  • Professional & Administrative
  • Leadership & Managerial
  • Information Technology
  • Trades & Labor
  • Science & Engineering

In addition, OPM psychologists are available to provide job analysis and competency modeling services to agency clients nationwide, both on an individual and an agency network basis. Services include development of customized surveys to collect occupational task and competency data, conducting focus groups and site visits, data analysis, and documentation of results according to all legal and professional guidelines. Competency models developed as a result of the occupational analysis can provide the foundation to design personnel selection, career development, and performance management tools.
