Improving the Performance of Our Nation's Laboratories

This 20-minute video provides a comprehensive picture of the Labs21 Program, highlighting both the challenges and solutions of laboratory design and construction through several case studies.

Profiles of EPA's National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory in Ann Arbor, Michigan; the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington; and the National Institutes of Health's Louis Stokes Laboratory, or Building 50, in Bethesda, Maryland, help illustrate the Labs21 Approach. Interviews with lab designers, Labs21 program coordinators, and other experts provide insight and advice into the various ways these labs have met sustainable design goals.
