Human Resources Management Accountability

What is our role in accountability?

The Office of Merit Systems Oversight and Effectiveness is responsible for promoting effective agency operation of human resources management (HRM) programs consistent with the Merit System Principles while avoiding Prohibited Personnel Practices. This supports the President's initiative to improve management of human capital in the government. We accomplish this by working with agencies to improve their internal HRM accountability systems. Specifically, we develop and provide models, data indicators, and a forum for information exchanges to help agencies assess themselves. Skip Navigation Links to Want More Information
