Presidential State of the Union Address
January 31, 2006

On Tuesday, January 31, 2006, the State of the Union Address will take place in the United States Capitol. The Capitol Square will be restricted to authorized pedestrians at 6:00 p.m. Additionally, the United States Capitol Police will be putting the following street closures into effect at 7:30 p.m.

  • D Street, NE between 2nd St., NE & Louisiana Ave., NE
  • C Street, NE between 2nd St., NE & Louisiana Avenue, NW
  • Constitution Ave. between 2nd St., NE & Louisiana Ave., NW
  • Delaware Ave. between Columbus Circle & Conn. Ave., NE
  • New Jersey Ave., between Louisiana Ave., & D Street, SE
  • Pennsylvania Ave., between 1st St., & 3rd St., NW
  • East Capitol St. between 2nd St., & 1st St., NE/SE
  • 1st St., between Columbus Circle, NE & C Street, SE
  • 1st St., between Louisiana Ave., NW and Washington Ave., SW
  • Maryland Ave., NE between 1st St., & 3rd St., SW
  • Pennsylvania Ave., NW between 3rd St., NW & 1st St., NW;
  • Independence Ave. between 2nd St., SE & Washington Ave., SW
