Rod Betit - Alaska State Hospital Nursing Home Association Print E-mail

Rod Betit joined the Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association (ASHNHA) as President/CEO in October 2003. ASHNHA is a private organization representing hospitals and nursing homes throughout the State. ASHNHA provides its membership advocacy services at all levels of government, continuing education opportunities for member personnel, quality of care initiatives, and leadership in health reform efforts.

 

Prior to joining ASHNHA, Rod worked for 30 years in state government.  From 1986 to 2003 Rod worked for the Utah Department of Health, 12 of which were as Executive Director of the Department.  During this period Rod also served on the Utah Health Policy Commission which advanced strategies to increase access and reduce health care costs.  Prior to his Utah experience, Rod held senior management positions at the Alaska Department of Health & Social Services from 1972 to 1986 including oversight of the Alaska Medicaid Program. 

 

During his 30 years of government service, Rod has worked for four Governors and has accumulated extensive experience in public health policy, health care financing, legislative advocacy, and management of large health care organizations.
