Ms. Betty Sorensen has been in Alaska over 30+ years. She has worked with the State of Alaska consumer protection, anti-trust, fire service, business and occupational licensing, and mental health trust, as well as federal and state facilities maintenance, federal and state major and minor construction, and federal environmental services prior to joining the Denali Commission as the Grants Administrator.

Betty provides management of the Denali Commission grant program to ensure award compliance, maintains the Denali Commission project database, and is responsible for issuing the grant awards for the health, teacher housing, and public broadcasting programs.

Betty has an Associate of Applied Science degree from the University of Alaska, Anchorage and has been a certified plans examiner and Woman of the Year for the American Business Women's Association.
