FDA LIVE SATELLITE TELECONFERENCE AND CVM MEETING TO BE HELD
FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is holding a public meeting and linking with an interactive satellite teleconference "Talking with Stakeholders about FDA Modernization," featuring Dr. Jane Henney, Commissioner of FDA and Dr. Linda Suydam, Associate Commissioner for Strategic Management. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss FDA's progress in implementing the FDA Modernization Act (FDAMA) and to seek additional input on specific FDAMA performance targets. In addition, CVM is seeking stakeholder input on any matters of concern related to the Animal Drug Availability Act (ADAA) at the Center meeting.
The CVM meeting and link to the satellite teleconference will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Central Time), April 28, 1999, at:

Other FDA Centers also will be co-hosting Center-specific meetings that link to the teleconference in major cities nationwide. Locations and times for all of the meetings as well as contacts for registration are listed in a March 22, 1999, Federal Register notice. Further information on the meetings and on FDA’s Modernization Act activities can be found at the FDA website . This website also includes specific information on how to submit written responses to the docket on these issues. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their comments electronically at the website.

If you would like to make a presentation at the CVM public meeting, you should also provide a short description of the topic you wish to address. The deadline for receiving requests to speak is Friday, April 9, 1999. Each person who submits a request will receive a response no later than Tuesday, April 20, stating whether they have been included in the program. Registration for participants who will not be making a presentation should be submitted by April 14, 1999.
