Technical Assistance for Opportunity Areas for Out of School Youth Demonstrations (RFP/DAA 98-50) The purpose of this project is to provide technical assistance to 11 opportunity areas for out of school youth demonstrations. Evaluation of the Strive Project (RFP/DAA 98-31) The United States Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration (ETA) is soliciting proposals for an evaluation of a demonstration project operated by STRIVE, Inc. The project was initiated in Program Year 1997 pursuant to Section 324 (a) of the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA). The objective of the demonstration is to test the concept that STRIVE's unique approach will help those individuals find employment that is appropriate to their individual circumstances and that brings satisfaction to those workers and their employers at the placement and retention rates stablished in the Statement of Work. Applying Skill Standards and Workforce Training (RFP/DAA 98-11) The purpose of this project is for the testing of skill standards in a variety of employment settings to improve the workplace training and to give clarity to occupational information Evaluation of the JTPA Microenterprise Grants Program (RFP/DAA 98-05) The purpose of this solicitation is to conduct an independent evaluation of the MICROENTERPRISE grants program implemented in Program Year 1996, authorized by Section 499 of the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) and funded under the auspices of Section 324. Study of Alternative Work Arrangements: Independent Contractors (RFP/DAA 98-09) The purpose of this solicitation is to analyze the classification of workers as independent contractors and measure its impact on State Unemployment Insurance Compensation programs including the trust fund.
