How to Join

How will EPA target new areas?

EPA is looking for areas willing to commit the time and staff resources necessary for a successful program.  In addition, participants must work cooperatively with EPA and other public and private partners, including local stakeholders and the business community, so as to increase community participation and leverage resources.  Some characteristics of attractive candidate areas include: local air quality concerns, such as air toxics and climate change, but with an opportunity for multi-media co-benefits; in either non-attainment or near non-attainment areas, and of medium- to large-size with a significant corporate presence.

What pollutants are addressed by this effort?

EPA is interested in using this innovative approach to achieve sustainable air quality and other environmental improvements including addressing criteria pollutants, air toxics, and green house gases.
