RXTE Suitability of Target

This tool is meant to assist mission planners and guest observers in determining the best time to observe targets. It reads an ephemeris file and creates output listing the predicted observing efficiency and sun angle.

The RXTE SOF does not guarantee that objects will always be scheduled during the week of peak efficiency, due to Targets of Opportunity and coordinated observations.

The Auto option for the Ephemeris file allows the program to automatically find the best suited file

The maximum number of months is 18

(format is YYYY/MM/DD)

(J2000, decimal deg)

(J2000, decimal deg)

(default = 12)

(w=Weekly(Default), d=Daily, o=Orbital)

Due to the nature of this utility, the program will not display results until it has finished running. This program will take between 60 and 600 seconds. It will run faster if you select fewer months to report.
