Division of Travel Policy and Programs

The Division of Travel Policy and Programs provides leadership in the area of travel through HHS policy development and through coordination with the General Services Administration (GSA), the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the Government Office of Ethics regarding government-wide travel program requirements. The Division provides quality guidance, advice and assistance, information, training, and best practices for managing HHS travel. It also: reviews all OPDIV/STAFFDIV Head travel for the ASAM; monitors conference attendee travel for compliance with the HHS Departmental policy “Rule of 50”; and guides the preparation of all consolidated Departmental travel reports. The Division serves as a liaison to ASL relating to travel issues for Congress, OMB, GSA, and other Federal agencies when requested.
