FWD Calibration Center and Operational Improvements Pooled Fund Study

The quality of data (both structural and functional condition) that is being collected and analyzed during the pavement evaluation process is critical to the success of designing longer lasting pavements. This pooled fund project will help states and local agencies insure that their FWD data meets the highest quality standards for meaningful project design. It will also allow for comparison to other data sets both regionally and nationally through the research community.

The objectives of this study are to modernize hardware and software, improve upon the current calibration procedure, as well as develop and implement long-term plans for FWD calibration centers. Participation and additional information can be found at: Pooled Fund Study TPF-5 (039) — New Pooled Fund Study Titled, Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) Calibration Center and Operational Improvements.
