Developing advanced air quality models that can simulate the transport and fate of pollutants in the atmosphere. Today, we are developing advanced modeling and decision support systems for effective management and forecasting of the Nation's air quality.
WHAT WE DO
- Develop models for use by EPA, NOAA, and the general air pollution community in understanding and forecasting not only the magnitude of the air pollution problem, but also in developing emission control policies and regulations.
- Provide a sound scientific and technical basis for regulatory policies.
- Conduct atmospheric research in-house and through contract and cooperative agreements with other agencies, academia, and the private sector.
- Work in partnership with other Divisions of the National Exposure Research Laboratory (NERL) and Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards (OAQPS).
