Riparian Restoration by Fencing:

This has been a very popular program within the state of New York. Typically, riparian fencing involves constructing two or three strand high tensile electric or non-electric fence along streams to limit the access of cattle or other livestock to waterways. A buffer zone is created between pasture and stream. A typical buffer zone may be 30 feet, but the larger the area the more benefits are gained. It is very beneficial to fish and wildlife habitat, water quality and farm operation.
