Criminal History Issues (July 2001)

This one hour video broadcast on the Federal Judicial Television Network discusses the criminal history guidelines with attention to the interplay between criminal history and relevant conduct.

Multiple Counts (April 2001)

This one hour video broadcast on the Federal Judicial Television Network. Members of the Commission's training staff discuss pertinent sentencing guidelines provisions involving the grouping of multiple counts of conviction. Fact patterns are used to illustrate how the multiple count rules are applied.

Basic Sentencing Guidelines Application (January 2001)

This two-hour videotape was broadcast on the Federal Judicial Television Network and is designed to provide an introduction to guidelines application for those with limited federal sentence guidelines experience. The video, featuring staff members from the Commission's training and legal staff, includes video segments from Eighth Annual National Seminar on the Federal Sentencing Guidelines. The program focuses on basic guidelines application, including relevant conduct, multiple counts, and criminal history.

Sentencing and Guidelines: A Conversation with Judge Diana Murphy (August 2002)

Judge Diana Murphy, Chair of the U.S. Sentencing Commission, and Judge Fern Smith, Director of the Federal Judicial Center, discuss issues facing the Commission. Judge Murphy addresses future policy initiatives and her views on working with Congress and other key constituent groups. Included are excerpts of statements from all of the Commissioners at the Ninth Annual National Seminar on Federal Sentencing Guidelines sponsored by the Federal Bar Association and the Sentencing Commission.

Restitution: Determining Victims and Harms (July 1999)

Presented by representatives of the AO's Office of the General Counsel and the U.S. Sentencing Commission, this video gives a comprehensive overview of the Mandatory Victims Restitution Act as well as other federal laws related to restitution. It was designed primarily to assist judges and probation officers in the step-by-step process of determining the amount of restitution owed to victims.

Videotapes highlighting the 1993, 1995, 1997 or 2001 Amendments to the Federal Sentencing Guidelines are available for short term loan.
