Higher-than-normal Sea Level

In June, the white area of high sea level began to spread along
the coasts of both the North and South America.
Because higher-than-normal sea level corresponded to
warmer-than-normal water, the fishermen in Peru began to
feel the impact: the warm water prevented upwelling of
cold, nutrient-rich water that is necessary for abundant fish
harvests.
